Elan Valley
The Elan Valley Reservoirs are a chain of man-made lakes created from damming the Elan and Claerwen rivers. The dams, reservoirs and 73 mile aqueduct of the Elan Valley were built a hundred years ago to supply desperately needed clean water to Birmingham. Today, the dams and reservoirs provide a lasting amenity in their own right for visitors to enjoy as well as safeguarding the natural habitats.

Welsh Lavender Farm
The Welsh Lavender Farm offers spectacular views across Mynydd Epynt, its open year round. Visitors are welcome to walk in the lavender fields. Farm notes are available for self-guided tours. The pond is a favourite farm feature, especially with wild swimmers. Tea, cakes and coffee are served all summer and out of season by arrangement. The peak time for lavender is midsummer.

Wye Valley Walk
Follow the Wye for 136 miles of river and hill walking, from the rugged upland moorlands of the mountains of mid Wales to the Severn near Chepstow. The Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with its dramatic limestone gorges, stunning viewpoints and romantic ruins at Tintern Abbey, provides a spectacular 50 mile finale to the walk, which ends in the shadow of a clifftop medieval castle at Chepstow.

Pen y Fan & Corn Du
A strenuous, circular mountain walk on well-made footpaths to the summit of Pen y Fan and Corn Du in the Brecon Beacons. If weather permits, you can enjoy views of the town of Brecon and on a good day, the summit of Cadair Idris.

Man versus Horse
Man v Horse is an annual multi terrain race held in Llanwrtyd Wells, 24 miles over Welsh countryside horse and man compete. The course was changed in 1982 to provide a more even match between the man and the horse.
